IndeeLift: A life changing device
This is Pep de Martí (21 years old), and I am going to share with all of you my experiences with using IndeeLift in my daily life. I first discovered IndeeLift while attending the Ortomedical Care Expo in Madrid, Spain, and it was a delightful surprise to find a device that would significantly improve my day-to-day life. As someone with muscular dystrophy, a neuromuscular disease that hinders my ability to rise from low surfaces independently—such as the floor, chairs, toilets, and more—I have been heavily reliant on the assistance of others, particularly my family. Moreover, with my height of 6ft 3 inches and weight of 185 lbs., it is often challenging for people to assist me by themselves. This inconvenience not only compromises my independence but also requires the involvement of two individuals to help me up. However, since obtaining an IndeeLift for our home, my independence has been restored. I can utilize the device without any assistance and rely much less on my family and friends for daily tasks. I can effortlessly go to the bathroom, rise from the couch after enjoying a movie or TV show, and even play with my dog Bairo on the floor—all by myself.
IndeeLift has proven to be invaluable in case of accidental falls as well. Given my disability, I am highly susceptible to falling, and recovering from those falls presents a significant challenge. My legs are not strong enough to lift myself, thus requiring assistance from others. Unfortunately, helping me up often leads to strained backs for my family and friends due to the considerable strength involved. However, with IndeeLift, recovering from falls has become much easier. I simply lower the platform, position myself on it, press a button, and elevate myself effortlessly. Thus, not only does IndeeLift aid me in these situations, but it also safeguards my loved ones from any potential back injuries.
In addition to its assistance at home, IndeeLift is also proving invaluable to me in the office. As an intern in a business setting, the device always remains within close reach. This enables me to rise whenever necessary and use the restroom independently, without requiring any assistance.
In summary, IndeeLift has been a life-changing device for me. Living with muscular dystrophy has made it challenging for me to get up from low surfaces, and I often relied on others for assistance. However, since discovering IndeeLift, my independence and dignity has been greatly restored. I no longer need constant help from my family and friends to perform everyday tasks such as using the bathroom or getting up from the couch. The device has even proven to be valuable in my workplace, allowing me to navigate the office environment with ease.
IndeeLift has truly provided me with newfound convenience and freedom, making a positive impact on both my personal and professional life.
